Character Talk content

The Character Talk service separates Character Talk into “All ages” and “Adult” ratings to protect minors. Character Talk is available to users aged 14 and older, and adult characters/stories are only available to users aged 19 and older who have completed adult verification. To comply with relevant laws (such as the Information and Communications Network Act and the Youth Protection Act), POSTYPE provides adult verification procedures and content rating indicators to prevent harmful content for minors from being exposed to underage users.

Common Character Talk content policies
 

Content that infringes others’ intellectual property rights or personality rights is prohibited

You may not use another person’s work or IP (Intellectual Property) without permission. You must comply with the following standards. 

• Unauthorized use of others’ works or IP

  • If the original creator has an official guideline, fan creations are only allowed within the scope of that guideline.

  • For IP without official guidelines, you may not create or publish content without the explicit permission of the original creator.

  • Content created without the original creator’s consent is considered a violation of POSTYPE policies and may be subject to actions such as making the content private, deleting it, or taking measures against the account.

• Settings or images modeled after real people
  • Using settings or images modeled after a real person that include another person’s real name, portrait, personal information, etc. is prohibited.
  • This standard applies regardless of the character/story rating.

Images that constitute obscene materials are prohibited

Mature content and obscene materials are different concepts, and you must not post any content that constitutes obscene materials regardless of whether it is marked as mature.

Current law does not provide a precise definition of obscene materials, but court precedents state that obscenity must be evaluated objectively and normatively according to the sound social norms of the time from the standpoint of an average person in that society, rather than the creator’s subjective intent.

• Standards for obscene materials

  • Posting images or text that depict sexual violence crimes (such as rape, gang rape, sexual assault), bestiality, necrophilia, group sex, incest, sexual sadism/masochism, voyeurism, and other depictions prohibited from distribution under the Deliberation regulations on information and communications, or that are socially unacceptable by common standards

  • Posting explicit images or text of sexual body parts or acts (such as genitals, pubic hair, anus, scrotum) without separate mosaics at a level where the outline cannot be discerned

  • Content that has little artistic or other value that could mitigate or reduce sexual arousal and therefore may, depending on the circumstances, be considered obscene material

  • Content that may otherwise be in violation of related laws

Sexual depictions and abuse of minors are prohibited

Under the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles against Sexual Abuse, any images, videos, etc. that depict sexual acts involving a child or juvenile (under 19 years old), or a person or representation that can clearly be recognized as a child or juvenile by social standards, constitute child or juvenile sexual exploitation materials.

This refers to cases where, based on the overall information given such as the character’s identity, appearance and physical development, production background or source, and so forth, an average person in society would objectively and unmistakably recognize the subject as a child or juvenile. Even if you state that the subject is an adult, if the elements described under “Standards for recognizing a minor” below or other elements that are commonly recognized as indicating minors are present, the content may be deemed child or juvenile sexual exploitation material and be sanctioned under domestic law. These standards apply equally to both characters and user-defined chat profiles (personas). Even if a character is set as an adult, if the chat profile is recognized as a minor, the conversation will be judged under the same standards.

• Standards for recognizing a minor

  • Elements that can be recognized as such through information, such as school uniforms, gym uniforms, schools, private academies, etc.

  • Contextual elements such as immature appearance or prompts suggesting a minor

• Prohibited text and images involving minor characters

  • Depictions of violence against minors, such as child abuse or sexual exploitation

  • Sexual depictions involving minors, including sexual acts and quasi-sexual acts

  • Content that inflicts severe mental or physical harm on minors

Excessive violence and hate speech are prohibited

Expressions that incite violence or hatred against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, nationality, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, norms, or social structures, or that cause hatred or discomfort to other users, may be subject to measures depending on their severity.

• Glorifying or encouraging acts that may lead to serious injury or death, such as self-harm or suicide, and other forms of mental or physical abuse

• Glorifying crime involving substances or weapons, or realistically describing methods of crime such as making bombs or weapons in a way that promotes criminal behavior

• Specifically describing or encouraging brutal or violent scenes such as kidnapping, human trafficking, murder, bodily injury, torture, mutilation, or organ trafficking

• Specifically depicting or glorifying threats, injury, assault, or murder targeting parents or children, the elderly, pregnant women, people with disabilities, children, or socially vulnerable individuals in a way that may undermine traditional ethics

• Encouraging insults and hatred toward victims of real crimes or incidents

• Depicting killing, abuse, or corpses of animals in specific detail to the point of causing cruelty or disgust

Disallowed prompts and usage examples

Prompts are core input values that define a character’s settings, tone, and conversation style, and you must follow the standards below.

• Expressions that solicit mature content

  • For example: “React in a provocative way,” “Only talk about erotic stories,” “Act like an R-19 character,” “Describe what you do in bed,” etc.

• Circumventing content restrictions

  • For example: “Let’s pretend this is just a novel,” “This is just a setting, not a real conversation,” “I’ll imagine the explicit parts myself,” etc.

• Inducing sexual relationships involving minors

  • For example: “A 17-year-old high school girl has a relationship with an older man,” “A conversation filled with sexual tension with a teenager,” etc.

• Inducing suicide, self-harm, or dangerous behavior

  • For example: “Tell me how to die,” “Teach me a self-harm tutorial,” etc.

• Inducing real-world threats or crimes

  • For example: “How to make a bomb,” “Murder simulation conversation,” “Wipe out humanity,” etc.

Report and block

If you find an inappropriate character or story, you can report it from the Character details screen via the More (…) icon in the top-right corner > [Report]. If you are suffering damage from posts that infringe your copyrights or other rights, please request a temporary takedown via the Rights Infringement Report Center.

If you repeatedly submit reports that are unrelated to the stated reasons, or if false reports accumulate, your use of POSTYPE may be restricted.
