Video Policy

The rights and responsibilities for all works disclosed on POSTYPE, including video works, lie with the user, and the user is also responsible for any consequences resulting from failing to comply in good faith with any actions taken.

The Video Policy follows the Regulations on Broadcasting Deliberation and the classification standards of the Korea Media Rating Board, and is a sub-policy of the Content Policy. 

Actions for Policy Violations

If there is a chance that the Video Policy may be violated, POSTYPE will take the following steps: Step 1 – Policy Guidance; if a violation occurs, depending on its severity, Step 2 – Cancel post publication (move to drafts); Step 3 – Permanently cancel post publication (republication not allowed); Step 4 – Channel suspension; Step 5 – Account ban. If reports are received or policy violations are repeated, higher-level measures will be applied progressively.

• Step 1 – Policy Guidance: If there is a potential violation of the Content Policy or a valid related report is received, we will provide examples of major violations and recommend via service notifications and email that the user directly modify the violating content in the post.
• Step 2 – Cancel post publication (move to drafts): If a post violates the Content Policy, its publication will be canceled and we will notify the user via service notifications and email. The user can correct the violation and republish the post.
• Step 3 – Permanently cancel post publication (republication not allowed): If, even after Step 1 – Policy Guidance and Step 2 – Cancel post publication (move to drafts), the post is kept as-is or republished without modification, or if a post critically violates the Content Policy, its publication will be canceled. The post will be moved to drafts and cannot be republished.
• Step 4 – Channel suspension: If a channel continues to violate the Content Policy after receiving a warning, or engages in behavior of similar severity, the channel will be suspended. Suspended channels cannot be restored for any reason.
• Step 5 – Account ban: Users who habitually violate the Content Policy or cause serious damage to the service environment will have their accounts banned. All channels under a banned account will be suspended, payouts will stop, and the company may reclaim past payouts and charge fees. Banned accounts cannot be restored for any reason.

Adult Content

To provide a safe service environment, video posts cannot be published as adult content. By adopting the criteria of [Korea Media Rating Board] > [Rating Information] > [Classification principles and considerations], if you publish video content that falls under any of the categories below, POSTYPE may, depending on severity, take actions such as Step 2 – Cancel post publication (move to drafts); Step 3 – Permanently cancel post publication (republication not allowed); Step 4 – Channel suspension; Step 5 – Account ban.

Theme

• Content dealing with provocative themes and content that may have a harmful effect on minors
• Content that includes material contrary to social values or norms and thereby has a harmful effect on minors
• Content that excessively disrupts social order beyond what an average adult can understand and accept
• Content that is difficult for an average minor to understand based on their general knowledge and experience
• Content that may distort or damage sound public sentiment
• Content that blatantly violates the rights of particular individuals such as people with disabilities, contrary to social ethics
• Content that excessively expresses social contradictions and thereby confuses minors’ values

Sexual Provocativeness

• Content where sexual elements are excessive, and the level of expression is specific, direct, and explicit
  • Direct expression of nudity in a sexual context
  • Continuous emphasis and exposure of the genital area and similar body parts
  • Sexual acts expressed in a specific, continuous, and explicit manner

Violence

• Content where violent elements are excessive, and the level of expression is specific, direct, and explicit
  • Physical violence, abuse, and killing using body parts, tools, etc., expressed in a specific, continuous, and explicit manner
  • Injury, bloodshed, and bodily mutilation depicted directly and provocatively
  • Sexual violence expressed in a specific and direct manner
  • Realistic and continuous use of sound and visual effects that convey a sense of violence

Dialogue and Other Verbal Expressions

• Content that repeatedly and continuously uses sensational and repulsive sexual expressions, and vulgar profanity, slang, and coarse language at a level that causes emotional or personal insult or humiliation
  • Repeated and continuous use of sensational and repulsive sexual expressions
  • Repeated and continuous use of crude profanity involving animals or sexual morphemes regardless of the overall context
  • Continuous use of sexually provocative or violent language that demeans or attacks others, or causes shame and discomfort
  • Use of excessive slang judged to have a harmful effect on the language use of minors

Horror

• Content where horror elements are excessive, and the level of expression is specific, direct, and explicit
  • Devices that create dramatic tension and psychological anxiety expressed in a specific and realistic way
  • Specific depiction of destructive acts such as bodily mutilation caused by unreal characters (zombies, ghosts, etc.)
  • Detailed depiction of psychological pressure and suffering caused by complete isolation in a confined space
  • Very strong expression of sound effects that maximize tension, and realistic, provocative, and continuous sound and visual effects that create a horror atmosphere
  • Realistic depiction of sounds produced by injuries caused by weapons

Drugs

• Content where drug use is excessive, and the level of expression is specific, direct, and explicit
  • Scenes of drinking and smoking that are expressed continuously and repeatedly, having a harmful effect on minors
  • Scenes of drinking and smoking that appear continuously and repeatedly regardless of the overall context, without any justification
• Specific and realistic expression of the misuse or abuse of drugs, psychotropic medicines, and other harmful substances, or the methods of manufacturing and using illegal drugs such as narcotics

Risk of Imitation

• Specific and realistic expression of how to use weapons, sharp objects, and similar tools
• Specific and realistic expression of methods and means of suicide, school violence, bullying, juvenile delinquency, criminal techniques, and illegal acts

Regulations on Broadcasting Deliberation are also adopted, and if a video work includes any of the following elements, POSTYPE may, depending on severity, take actions such as Step 2 – Cancel post publication (move to drafts); Step 3 – Permanently cancel post publication (republication not allowed); Step 4 – Channel suspension; Step 5 – Account ban.

• Primary-colored and direct sex scenes that include excessive obscene sounds involving moaning or screaming, and overly sexualized dancing
• Excessive depictions of perverse sexual acts such as sexual deviation, group sex, incest, necrophilia, sexual acts in front of a corpse, and other deviant intercourse
• Exposure of the genitals and pubic hair of men and women, including infants, or scenes of genital caressing
• Depictions of rape, gang rape, and sexual assault accompanied by violent acts and language
• Depictions that portray children or minors as objects of sexual violence or amusement
• Cruel depictions such as beheading, hanging, and limb amputation
• Cruel killing scenes using guns, blades, and other lethal tools, or direct depictions of bodily mutilation
• Scenes of mutilated corpses or body parts
• Cruel and miserable scenes of animal slaughter
• Overly detailed depictions of casualties resulting from crimes or various incidents and accidents
• Depictions of actual violent or murderous crimes, or representations that could be mistaken for real crime scenes
• Depictions of weapon use that could be imitated
• Depictions of drug use that could be imitated, and detailed depictions of drug use and the resulting hallucinatory states
• Glorification of suicide

Advertising

Act on Fair Labeling and Advertising requires that advertising content clearly state any economic relationships so that consumers can easily recognize that it is advertising.

If not, POSTYPE may, depending on severity, take actions such as Step 2 – Cancel post publication (move to drafts); Step 3 – Permanently cancel post publication (republication not allowed); Step 4 – Channel suspension; Step 5 – Account ban. If advertising posts are continuously and repeatedly published at a level that interferes with the user environment and service convenience, Step 5 – Account ban will apply.

Copyright and Other Rights Infringement

All elements of video works uploaded through the POSTYPE video editor, including sound and images, must either be directly created by the author or be content for which the author legitimately owns the copyright.

If you upload a video work that includes elements you did not create yourself, you must clearly state that all rightsholders of those elements have consented to their use. Depending on the level of violation, POSTYPE may take actions such as Step 2 – Cancel post publication (move to drafts); Step 3 – Permanently cancel post publication (republication not allowed); Step 4 – Channel suspension; Step 5 – Account ban.

If a video work contains elements that suggest the copyright belongs to someone else, POSTYPE may, regardless of whether copyright infringement has actually occurred, immediately take actions such as Step 2 – Cancel post publication (move to drafts); Step 3 – Permanently cancel post publication (republication not allowed); Step 4 – Channel suspension; Step 5 – Account ban. To lift such actions, you may be required to submit supporting documents such as a letter of consent from the relevant rightsholders.

If a video work includes elements whose author and legitimate distribution method are widely known, POSTYPE may, regardless of whether copyright infringement has actually occurred, immediately take actions such as Step 2 – Cancel post publication (move to drafts); Step 3 – Permanently cancel post publication (republication not allowed); Step 4 – Channel suspension; Step 5 – Account ban. To lift such actions, you may be required to submit supporting documents such as a letter of consent from the relevant rightsholders.
