Video Policy

The rights and responsibilities for all works disclosed on POSTYPE, including video works, lie with the corresponding user, and the user is also responsible for any consequences arising from failing to comply in good faith with any measures taken.

The video policy follows the Regulations on Broadcasting Review and the Korea Media Rating Board’s Rating Classification Criteria, and is a subordinate policy under the Content Policy. 

Actions for Policy Violations

If there is a possibility that the video policy may be violated, POSTYPE will take the following actions: Step 1 – Policy guidance; if actually violated, depending on the severity, Step 2 – Cancel post publish (move to draft), Step 3 – Permanently cancel post publish (cannot be republished), Step 4 – Suspend channel, Step 5 – Block account. As reports are received or policy violations are repeated, higher-level actions will gradually be applied.

• Step 1 – Policy guidance: If a post appears to potentially violate the content policy or a valid report related to it is received, we will provide guidance on major violation cases and recommend via service notifications and email that the user directly revise any violating elements of the post.
• Step 2 – Cancel post publish (move to draft): For posts that violate the content policy, we will cancel their publication and notify the user via service notifications and email. The user may directly correct the violating content and republish.
• Step 3 – Permanently cancel post publish (cannot be republished): If, even after Step 1 – Policy guidance and Step 2 – Cancel post publish (move to draft), the post is kept as-is without corrections or is republished, or if the post critically violates the content policy, its publication will be canceled. The post will be moved to draft and cannot be republished.
• Step 4 – Suspend channel: If content policy violations continue after a warning, or are of a comparable level, the corresponding channel will be suspended. A suspended channel cannot be restored for any reason.
• Step 5 – Block account: Users who habitually violate the content policy or cause serious damage to the service environment will have their accounts blocked. All channels belonging to the blocked account will be suspended, payments of revenue will be halted, and the company may reclaim existing revenue and charge fees. A suspended account cannot be restored for any reason.

Mature Content

To provide a safe service environment, mature video posts cannot be published. [Korea Media Rating Board] > [Rating Information] > [Rating Principles and Considerations] is used as a reference, and if video content that falls under any of the categories below is published, POSTYPE will, depending on the severity, take actions of Step 2 – Cancel post publish (move to draft), Step 3 – Permanently cancel post publish (cannot be republished), Step 4 – Suspend channel, Step 5 – Block account.

Theme

• Content dealing with provocative themes and content that may have a harmful influence on minors
• Content that includes elements contrary to social values or norms and thereby has a harmful influence on minors
• Content that excessively disrupts social order beyond what a typical adult can reasonably understand and accept
• Content that is difficult to understand with the general knowledge and experience of minors
• Content that may distort or damage sound public sentiment
• Content that clearly infringes on the rights of certain individuals, such as persons with disabilities, and thereby violates social ethics
• Content that expresses social contradictions to an excessive degree and thus confuses the values of minors

Sexual Content

• Content where sexual elements are excessive, and the level of expression is specific, direct, and explicit
  • Content that directly depicts nudity connected to a sexual context
  • Content that continuously exposes and emphasizes genitals, etc.
  • Content where sexual acts are depicted in a concrete, persistent, and explicit way

Violence

• Content where elements of violence are excessive, and the level of expression is specific, direct, and explicit
  • Content where physical violence, abuse, and killing using body parts, tools, etc. are depicted in a concrete, persistent, and explicit way
  • Content where injury, bloodshed, and bodily harm are portrayed in a direct and provocative way
  • Content where sexual violence is expressed in a concrete and direct way
  • Content where sound and visual effects that convey a sense of violence are realistic and continuous

Dialogue and Other Language Expressions

• Content where provocative and repulsive sexual expressions, and crude profanity, slang, or vulgar language that cause emotional or personal humiliation or shame are used repeatedly and continuously
  • Content where provocative and repulsive sexual expressions appear repeatedly and continuously
  • Content where, regardless of the overall context, coarse profanity related to animals or sexual morphemes appears repeatedly and continuously
  • Content where sexually or violently explicit language that belittles or attacks others or causes shame and discomfort appears continuously
  • Content where excessive use of vulgar language is deemed to have a harmful effect on the language habits of minors

Horror

• Content where elements of horror are excessive, and the level of expression is specific, direct, and explicit
  • Content where devices that create dramatic tension and psychological anxiety are expressed in a concrete and realistic way
  • Content where destructive acts such as physical mutilation by non-existent characters (zombies, ghosts, etc.) are depicted in a concrete way
  • Content where psychological pressure and suffering from complete isolation in a confined space are described in detail
  • Content where sound effects that maximize tension are expressed very strongly, and where sound and visual effects that create a horror atmosphere are realistic, provocative, and continuous
  • Content where sounds occurring during injury by weapons are portrayed realistically

Drugs

• Content where drug use is excessive, and the level of expression is specific, direct, and explicit
  • Content where scenes of drinking or smoking are expressed continuously and repeatedly, thereby having a harmful influence on minors
  • Content where, regardless of the overall context, scenes of drinking or smoking appear continuously and repeatedly without any rationale for them
• Content where the misuse or abuse of drugs, psychoactive medicines, and other harmful substances, or the methods for manufacturing or using illegal drugs such as narcotics, are expressed in a concrete and realistic way

Risk of Imitation

• Content where methods of using weapons, sharp instruments, etc. are expressed in a concrete and realistic way
• Content where the means and methods of suicide, school violence, bullying, juvenile delinquency, crime techniques, and illegal acts are expressed in a concrete and realistic way

Regulations on Broadcasting Review is used as a reference, and if a video work includes any of the following elements, POSTYPE will, depending on the severity, take actions of Step 2 – Cancel post publish (move to draft), Step 3 – Permanently cancel post publish (cannot be republished), Step 4 – Suspend channel, Step 5 – Block account.

• Explicit and direct sexual scenes that include overly obscene sounds with moaning or shrieking and excessive sexual movements
• Excessive sex scenes in deviant forms such as sexual perversion, group sex, incest, necrophilia, or sexual acts in front of a corpse
• Exposure of male or female genitals or pubic hair, including infants, or scenes of fondling genitals
• Depictions of rape, gang rape, or sexual assault accompanied by violent acts and language
• Depictions of children or minors as objects of sexual violence or play
• Cruel depictions such as beheading, hanging, or dismemberment
• Brutal killing scenes using firearms, blades, lethal weapons, etc., or direct depictions of bodily mutilation
• Scenes of mutilated corpses or body parts
• Cruel and miserable scenes of animal slaughter
• Overly detailed depictions of casualties resulting from crimes or various accidents and incidents
• Depictions of real violence, murder, or other crime scenes, or depictions that can be mistaken for actual crime scenes
• Depictions of weapon use that can be easily imitated
• Depictions of drug use that can be easily imitated and detailed depictions of narcotics use and the resulting hallucinatory state
• Glorification of suicide

Advertising

Act on Fair Labeling and Advertising requires that advertising content must clearly indicate any economic relationships so that consumers can easily recognize that it is advertising.

If not, depending on the severity, POSTYPE will take actions of Step 2 – Cancel post publish (move to draft), Step 3 – Permanently cancel post publish (cannot be republished), Step 4 – Suspend channel, Step 5 – Block account. If advertising posts are continuously and repeatedly posted at a level that interferes with the user environment and service convenience, Step 5 – Block account will be applied.

Copyright and Other Rights Infringement

All components of video works uploaded via the POSTYPE video editor, including audio and images, must be either directly created by the author or lawfully owned by them.

If a video work that includes elements not created by the author is uploaded, explicit consent to use those elements from all rights holders must be indicated. Depending on the degree of violation, POSTYPE will take actions of Step 2 – Cancel post publish (move to draft), Step 3 – Permanently cancel post publish (cannot be republished), Step 4 – Suspend channel, Step 5 – Block account.

If a video work includes elements from which it can be inferred that the copyright belongs to another party, actions of Step 2 – Cancel post publish (move to draft), Step 3 – Permanently cancel post publish (cannot be republished), Step 4 – Suspend channel, Step 5 – Block account may be taken immediately, regardless of whether copyright infringement has actually occurred, and supporting documentation such as consent to use from relevant rights holders may be required to lift such measures.

If a video work includes elements whose author and legitimate distribution method are widely known, actions of Step 2 – Cancel post publish (move to draft), Step 3 – Permanently cancel post publish (cannot be republished), Step 4 – Suspend channel, Step 5 – Block account may be taken immediately, regardless of whether copyright infringement has actually occurred, and supporting documentation such as consent to use from relevant rights holders may be required to lift such measures.
