Content Policy

POSTYPE hopes many creators can communicate with their readers through POSTYPE, build sustainable income, and continue their creative work with more enjoyment. POSTYPE respects and supports creators’ freedom of expression as their inherent right and is always ready to help creators. However, to prevent situations where POSTYPE or creators could face legal sanctions that make creative activities difficult, we apply a minimal content policy.

POSTYPE is a content marketplace platform. The rights and responsibilities for posts you create belong to you as the user, and you are also responsible for any consequences that arise from failing to comply with required actions in good faith.

This policy serves as a safety measure to protect the creators and readers who use POSTYPE, and it applies not only to posts, but to all areas that POSTYPE users can view. The examples provided are only a few cases, and additional cases may apply.

For matters not included below, we refer to applicable laws and regulations or orders from government agencies, and this content policy may change due to changes in our internal policies, applicable laws and regulations, or government orders.

Actions taken for policy violations

If content may potentially violate or does violate the content policy, actions will be taken according to the severity as follows.

• Step 1 – Policy guidance: If content may potentially violate the content policy or a valid report related to this is received, we will share key examples of violations and, via service notifications and email, recommend that the user modify any violating parts of the post directly.
• Step 2 – Post unpublished (moved to drafts): If a post violates the content policy, it will be unpublished, and we will notify the user via service notifications and email. The user can directly correct the violating content and republish the post.
• Step 3 – Post permanently unpublished (cannot be republished): If, after Step 1 – Policy guidance and Step 2 – Post unpublished (moved to drafts), the post is kept as is or republished without modification, or if the post critically violates the content policy, its publication will be canceled. The post will be moved to drafts and its body cannot be viewed or republished.
• Step 4 – Channel suspension: If violations of the content policy continue even after Steps 1–3, or conduct is equivalent to such violations, the relevant channel will be suspended.
• Step 5 – Account ban: Users who habitually violate the content policy or cause serious damage to the service environment will have their accounts banned. All channels under that account will be suspended, revenue payouts will be stopped, and the company may reclaim previous revenue and charge fees. You cannot log in with a banned account, and POSTYPE cannot be used under the same name.

As reports are filed or policy violations are repeated, higher-level actions will be applied step by step. In cases of policy abuse or fraudulent use of the service, higher-level actions may be applied without accumulation. If you need to explain or verify matters related to actions taken, you can contact us through the Help Center. However, channels and accounts found to be in violation of the policy cannot be restored for any reason.

Adult content

Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, Etc. and the Youth Protection Act stipulate that anyone providing harmful media content to minors must label such media as harmful to youth and must not display it publicly without measures that restrict youth access.

Whether content is harmful to youth must be judged objectively based on the value standards of an average person, not the creator’s subjective intent, and case law requires that obscenity, brutality, and cruelty be interpreted more strictly and restrictively than for content aimed at ordinary adults.

POSTYPE provides an adult-content marking feature so that creators can properly fulfill their legal obligations—such as verifying the counterparty’s age and applying required labels—when posting content that may be harmful to youth.

Aside from POSTYPE’s adult-content marking feature, it is against our service policy for creators to individually judge whether a reader is an adult. If your content includes material that falls under adult content, you must keep the adult-content label applied in order to maintain a safe content environment for both creators and readers.

• If you attempt to circumvent adult-content labeling by publishing adult content through membership posts without applying the adult label, this may be treated as fraudulent use of the service and higher-level actions may be applied without accumulation.
• If you frequently change the adult-content label on posts that qualify as adult content, this may be considered abuse of the feature and stronger actions may be taken under this policy.

In the following cases, actions will be taken according to severity if content is published without an adult-content label.

• Exposure of a substantial part of the body or exposure of genitals where the shape and outline can be clearly recognized
• Sexual contact, sexual acts, or provocative pose depictions that go beyond all-ages media (light kissing while clothed – Korea Media Rating Board standards), and other content that is lascivious or obscene and stimulates sexual desire in youth
• Explicit sexual conversations, obscene dialogue, or excessive use of vulgar or abusive language
• Content that encourages gambling or speculative behavior and is likely to significantly harm the wholesome life of youth
• Content that specifically describes or encourages the effects, production, purchase, or methods of use of narcotics, psychotropic drugs, or other harmful substances
• Content that is antisocial or unethical and likely to impair the sound character and civic consciousness of youth
• Other content that is clearly likely to harm the mental or physical health of youth
• Links or files that allow direct access to such content without verifying the user’s age or identity
• Sales or commission-based production guidance for creative works that qualify as adult content

Obscene content

Adult content and obscene content are different. Obscene content must not be posted regardless of whether an adult-content label is applied.

While current law does not provide a clear-cut standard for obscenity, case law states that obscene content must be objectively and normatively evaluated not from the producer’s subjective intent, but from the standpoint of the average person in that society and in light of sound social norms of the time.

As a content marketplace platform, POSTYPE cannot act as the primary judge of whether something is obscene. We also consistently inform users that we do not proactively determine whether each work is obscene when inquiries are made. However, to ensure safe service operation and user protection, we apply the relevant laws and standards established by related institutions to this content policy as follows.

In the following cases, content may be considered obscene and actions will be taken according to severity.

• Content that focuses on depicting sexual violence crimes (rape, gang rape, molestation, etc.), bestiality, necrophilia, group sex, incest, sexual sadism/masochism, voyeurism, and other acts defined as non-distributable under the Regulations on Deliberation of Information and Communications, or that focus on acts that are difficult to accept under social norms
• Explicit depictions of sexual body parts or acts such as genitals, pubic hair, anus, scrotum, etc., without separate mosaicing (to a degree where the outline cannot be discerned)
• Images that are identifiable as photographs of real people at an adult-content level, regardless of whether mosaicing is applied
• Other cases where an urgent response is deemed necessary due to violations of applicable laws

• Cases where a fully exposed body is depicted in an excessively provocative manner and may, in some instances, qualify as obscene content

• Cases where the sexual depiction is illegal or undermines human dignity and value, and may, in some instances, qualify as obscene content

• Cases where the artistic or other value that could reduce or mitigate sexual arousal is minimal, and may, in some instances, qualify as obscene content

• Other cases where content may potentially violate applicable laws

In the following cases, Step 5 – Account ban will be applied without separate prior notice.

• Content created for the purpose of promoting or advertising pornographic sites, adult products, illegal information, and similar material
• Obscene content or links to such content
• Arranging prostitution

Child abuse

Act on the Protection of Children and Youth Against Sexual Offenses defines child and youth sexual exploitation material as images or videos that depict sexual acts involving children or youth (under 19), or people or expressions that can clearly be recognized as children or youth, when judged under social norms.

This refers to cases where, based on the social average person’s perspective and considering multiple pieces of information such as the person’s identity, appearance or physical development, production background, or source, the individual can be clearly recognized as a child or youth without reasonable doubt based on their appearance.

If content includes depictions that may qualify as child and youth sexual exploitation material, or where such a determination may be made, actions will be taken according to the severity.

Other crimes and illegal information

If illegal information or similar content is described with specific detail or if information is provided at a level that can be imitated, actions will be taken according to the severity.

• Prostitution or obscene information
• Gambling information
• Information about illegal food or drugs and medical products
• Other information that violates laws (such as illegal financial activities, trading personal information, etc.)
• Information about hacking software or source code
• Posting or trading another person’s personal information
• Manipulating or distorting information to present false content as if it were true
• Content that is clearly likely to incite or abet crimes, or that promotes or agitates criminal activity
• Other content that specifically describes the planning or execution of illegal acts
• Impersonating POSTYPE employees or services, or creating content that could be mistaken as such

Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, Etc. or the Personal Information Protection Act may be violated if you post another person’s personal information (phone number, address, social media accounts, personal details of family members or acquaintances, or various photos or videos proving such information) and gain unfair profit from it. In such cases, not only may actions be taken under this content policy, but you may also be subject to legal penalties.

If you impersonate POSTYPE employees or services, or create content that could be mistaken as such, POSTYPE may apply immediate discretionary actions to minimize user confusion.

Advertising

Act on Fair Labeling and Advertising requires that advertising content clearly disclose any economic relationship so that consumers can easily recognize it as advertising. If this is not done, actions will be taken according to the severity.

Posts that contain advertisements or promotions for subjects that may be deemed adult content (harmful media to youth) must be labeled as adult content under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, Etc..

The Youth Protection Act defines harmful environments for youth (including harmful media, harmful substances, harmful products, harmful businesses, etc.). If a post includes such content unrelated to creative work and is written for advertising purposes, or if it may potentially violate POSTYPE’s Terms of Use or policies, actions will be taken according to the severity.

Fraud・Deception

If content interferes with users’ ability to view or purchase content—for example, by repeatedly publishing the same post, or if the actual content provided differs from what was described before purchase—actions will be taken according to the severity.

• When identical posts are published too frequently or repeatedly
• When meaningless words and sentences are listed under the public section to deliberately inflate the length of a post
• When the title, subtitle, or preview content is significantly different from the content under the public section
• When the content actually provided after payment is significantly different from what was described to induce purchase, or when content unrelated to the description is provided
• When materials or links in a post lead to content that may be suspected of relating to crimes or acts prohibited by law

Disputes are reviewed based not on whether they function, but on whether the actual deliverables match what was described before purchase, and whether our operating policies or applicable laws and regulations were violated.

Content that harms the viewing environment

If you publish content that includes the following in areas visible to any user, a thumbnail reset action will be taken, and as reports are filed or policy violations are repeated, higher-level actions will be applied step by step.

• Images of sexual acts, use of masturbation devices, fetishism, or other imagery for sexual gratification
• Excessive exposure of specific body parts
• Violent images intended to shock or cause disgust
• Graphic or gruesome images that include blood or scenes of bleeding

Violence

In the following cases, actions will be taken according to the severity.

• Content that glorifies or promotes self-harm, suicide, or other acts that may lead to serious injury or death, or that glorifies or promotes psychological or physical abuse
• Content that glamorizes crimes such as drug and weapon use, or that realistically describes criminal methods such as bomb or weapon making, thereby encouraging crime
• Content that specifically describes or promotes brutal and violent scenes such as kidnapping, human trafficking, murder, assault, torture, bodily harm, or organ trafficking
• Content that specifically depicts or glorifies threats, injuries, assaults, or murders against parents, children, the elderly, pregnant women, people with disabilities, children, or socially vulnerable groups, and that may undermine traditional ethics
• Content that encourages insults or hatred toward victims of real crimes or incidents
• Content that graphically depicts killing, abuse, or corpses of animals in a way that induces feelings of cruelty or disgust

Hate speech

Expressions that encourage violence or hatred against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, nationality, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or social norms and structures, or that cause hatred or strong discomfort to other users, will be subject to actions according to the severity.
