Content Policy

POSTYPE hopes that many creators will use POSTYPE to communicate with readers, generate sustainable revenue, and enjoy their creative activities even more. POSTYPE respects and supports creators’ freedom of expression as an inherent right and is always ready to help creators. However, to prevent situations where POSTYPE and creators may be subject to legal sanctions that make creative activities difficult, we apply a minimum set of content policies.

POSTYPE is a content transaction intermediary platform. The rights and responsibilities for any post you create belong to you, and you are also responsible for any consequences arising from failure to faithfully comply with required actions.

This policy is a safeguard designed to protect creators and readers using POSTYPE and applies not only to posts but to all areas that POSTYPE users can view. The examples presented are only some cases, and additional situations may also apply.

For matters not covered below, we refer to relevant laws or orders from government agencies. The content policy may change based on our internal policy changes, changes in applicable laws, or orders from government agencies.

Actions for policy violations

If content appears likely to violate the content policy or actually violates it, we will take the following actions according to the severity.

• Step 1 – Policy guidance: When there is a risk of content policy violation or a valid report related to it is received, we will inform you of major examples of violations and recommend via service notifications and email that you modify the violating parts of your post yourself.
• Step 2 – Post unpublish (move to draft): We will unpublish posts that violate the content policy and notify you via service notifications and email. You may correct the violating content yourself and republish the post.
• Step 3 – Permanent post unpublish (cannot be republished): If, after Step 1 – Policy guidance and Step 2 – Post unpublish (move to draft) actions, the post is kept as-is or republished without correction, or if a post critically violates the content policy, we will cancel its publication. The post will be moved to drafts, and its body cannot be viewed or republished.
• Step 4 – Channel suspension: If you continue to violate the content policy even after Steps 1–3 have been taken, or your behavior is equivalent to continuous violations, the channel will be suspended.
• Step 5 – Account block: Users who habitually violate the content policy or cause serious damage to the service environment will have their accounts blocked. All channels under that account will be suspended, revenue payouts will be stopped, and the company may reclaim previous revenue and charge fees. A blocked account cannot be used to log in, and you cannot use POSTYPE again under the same legal identity.

The more reports are received or the more policy violations are repeated, the more likely higher-level actions will be applied. In cases of policy abuse or fraudulent use of the service, higher-level actions may be taken immediately without accumulation. If you need to provide additional information or verify an action, you can contact us via the Help Center. However, channels and accounts that are confirmed to have violated policy cannot be restored for any reason.

Mature content

Information and Communications Network Act and the Youth Protection Act require providers of harmful media content for youth to mark such media as harmful to youth and prohibit displaying it publicly without measures to restrict youth access.

Whether content is harmful to youth must be determined objectively based on the value standards of the average person, not the creator’s subjective intent, and case law requires that obscenity, brutality, and cruelty be interpreted more strictly and narrowly than for content aimed at general adults.

POSTYPE provides a mature content marking feature so that creators who upload content harmful to youth can fulfill their legal obligations, such as verifying the viewer’s age and complying with display requirements.

Aside from the mature content marking feature provided by POSTYPE, it is against service policy for creators to individually determine whether a reader is an adult. If your content includes material that qualifies as mature, you must keep the mature content mark enabled to maintain a safe content environment for both creators and readers.

• If you attempt to bypass the mature content mark and publish mature content through membership posts, this may be treated as fraudulent use of the service and result in higher-level actions being taken immediately without accumulation.
• If you repeatedly change the mature content mark on posts that qualify as mature, this may be considered abuse of the feature and lead to stronger measures under this policy.

In the following cases, publishing without a mature content mark will result in actions according to severity.

• Exposure of a substantial part of the body, or exposure of genitals whose outline and specific shape can be clearly identified
• Sexual contact, sexual acts, or suggestive poses beyond what is allowed in all-ages media (light kissing while clothed – Korea Media Rating Board), or other suggestive or obscene depictions that stimulate sexual desire in youth
• Explicit sexual conversations, obscene dialogue, or excessive use of vulgar or abusive language
• Content that encourages gambling or speculation and is likely to seriously impair the sound lifestyle of youth
• Content that specifically describes or promotes the effects, production, purchase, or use of drugs, psychotropic substances, or other harmful materials
• Content that is antisocial or unethical and is likely to hinder the formation of a healthy personality and civic consciousness in youth
• Any other content that clearly threatens the mental or physical health of youth
• Links or files that allow direct access to the above content without verifying the user’s age or identity
• Sale of creative works that qualify as mature content, or instructions and guidance for producing such works on commission

Obscene content

Mature content and obscene content are different concepts, and you must not post content that qualifies as obscene regardless of whether it is marked as mature.

Current law does not provide a precise definition of obscene content, but case law states that obscenity must be assessed objectively and normatively from the standpoint of the average person in that society, according to sound social norms of the time, rather than based on the creator’s subjective intent.

As a content transaction intermediary platform, POSTYPE cannot be the final arbiter of what is or is not obscene. We also consistently inform users that we do not preemptively determine whether each creative work constitutes obscene content whenever we receive related inquiries. However, to ensure safe operation of the service and protect users, we apply the following criteria based on current laws and the standards set by relevant organizations.

In the following cases, depictions that may qualify as obscene content will be subject to actions according to severity.

• Concentrated depictions of conduct that is defined as non-distributable in the Deliberation Regulations on Information and Communications and is difficult to accept under social norms, such as sexual violence crimes (rape, gang rape, sexual assault, etc.), bestiality, necrophilia, group sex, incest, sexual sadism or masochism, voyeurism, and so on
• Graphic depictions of sexual body parts or acts such as genitals, pubic hair, anus, scrotum, etc., without mosaic (to a level where outlines cannot be recognized)
• Images at a mature content level that appear to be photographs of real people, regardless of whether they are mosaicked, if attached to the post
• Cases where urgent action is deemed necessary due to violations of relevant laws
• Cases where the fully exposed body is depicted in an excessively suggestive way and may, depending on context, qualify as obscene content
• Cases where sexual depictions are illegal or damage human dignity and value and may, depending on context, qualify as obscene content
• Cases where there is little artistic or other value that might reduce or mitigate sexual arousal, and which may, depending on context, qualify as obscene content
• Any other cases that may violate relevant laws

In the following cases, we will immediately apply Step 5 – Account block without separate prior notice.

• Content created for the purpose of promoting or advertising pornographic sites, adult products, or illegal information
• Obscene content or links to such content
• Procuring prostitution

Child abuse

Act on the Protection of Children and Youth from Sexual Offenses defines child and youth sexual exploitation materials as images or videos in which a child or youth (under age 19), or a person or depiction clearly recognizable as a child or youth based on general social perception, appears and engages in sexual acts.

This refers to cases where, when comprehensively considering multiple factors such as the identity of the characters, their appearance or physical development, and the circumstances or source of production, a person is, from the viewpoint of the average member of society, clearly and unmistakably recognizable as a child or youth in appearance.

If a work contains depictions that may constitute child or youth sexual exploitation material or may reasonably be interpreted as such, actions will be taken according to the severity.

Other crimes and illegal information  

If you describe illegal information or equivalent content in concrete detail, or provide information at a level that can be imitated, actions will be taken according to the severity.

• Information related to prostitution or obscene content
• Gambling-related information
• Information about illegal food or pharmaceuticals
• Information that violates other laws (illegal finance, trading personal information, etc.)
• Information about hacking software or source code
• Posting or trading another person’s personal information
• Posting content that has been manipulated or distorted so that false information appears to be factual
• Content that is highly likely to incite or abet crime, or to promote or agitate criminal acts
• Content that specifically describes plans or execution of illegal acts
• Impersonating POSTYPE employees or services, or any content that may reasonably be mistaken as such

Information and Communications Network Act or the Personal Information Protection Act may be violated if you post another person’s personal information (phone number, address, social media accounts, personal details of family or acquaintances, photos or videos that can prove such information, etc.) and obtain unjust gains. In such cases, in addition to the actions taken under this content policy, you may also be subject to legal penalties.

If you impersonate POSTYPE employees or services or otherwise cause confusion that may lead to such misunderstandings, we may immediately apply discretionary actions to minimize user confusion.

Advertising

Act on Fair Labeling and Advertising requires that advertising content clearly indicate any economic interests so that consumers can easily recognize its promotional nature. Failure to do so may result in actions according to the severity.

Mature content (media harmful to youth) that is the subject of advertisements or promotional posts must be clearly marked as mature content in accordance with the Information and Communications Network Act.

Youth Protection Act defines harmful environments for youth (including harmful media, harmful drugs, harmful items, harmful businesses, etc.). If a post including such content is created purely for advertising rather than creative purposes, or if it is likely to violate POSTYPE’s Terms of Use and policies, actions will be taken according to the severity.

Fraud and deception

If you repeatedly publish posts with identical content, or if there is a discrepancy between the pre-purchase description and what is actually provided, thereby undermining the environment for viewing or purchasing content, actions will be taken according to the severity.

• Excessive and frequent posting or repetition of posts with identical content
• Artificially inflating the length of a post by listing meaningless words and sentences under the public section
• Cases where the title, subtitle, or preview content is significantly different from the content under the public section
• Cases where the materials actually provided after payment are significantly different from what was described to induce purchases, or where materials unrelated to the description are provided
• Cases where materials or links included in a post lead to content that may reasonably be suspected of involving crimes or activities prohibited by law

※ POSTYPE does not guarantee the operation, performance, or effectiveness of content such as programs or macros that are sold on the platform. Disputes of this nature are reviewed based on whether the actual deliverables match the descriptions provided before purchase, and whether there has been a violation of operational policies or relevant laws, rather than whether the program functions as claimed.

Content that harms the viewing experience

When users post content including the following in areas visible to anyone, we will take a thumbnail reset action, and if reports are repeatedly received or policy violations continue, increasingly higher-level actions will be applied.

• Images of sexual acts, use of masturbation tools, fetishism, or other images aimed at sexual gratification
• Excessive exposure of specific body parts
• Violent images intended to shock or trigger disgust
• Graphic or repulsive images that include blood or gory scenes

Violence

In the following cases, actions will be taken according to the severity.

• Content that glamorizes or promotes acts that may lead to serious injury or death, such as self-harm or suicide, or other mental or physical abuse
• Content that glamorizes crimes such as drug or weapon use, or realistically describes methods of crime such as bomb or weapon manufacturing, thereby encouraging crime
• Content that graphically depicts or promotes cruel and violent scenes such as kidnapping, human trafficking, murder, injury, torture, bodily harm, or organ trafficking
• Content that specifically depicts or glamorizes threats, injury, assault, or murder against parents or children, the elderly, pregnant women, people with disabilities, children, or other socially vulnerable groups, in a way that is likely to undermine traditional ethics
• Content that insults or incites hatred against victims of real crimes or incidents
• Content that graphically depicts killing, abuse, or corpses of animals in a way that causes feelings of cruelty or disgust

Hate speech

Expressions that incite violence or hatred against individuals or groups by targeting race, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, nationality, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, norms, or social structures, or expressions that cause other users to feel hatred or strong discomfort will be subject to actions according to the severity.
