Submit a request
If the request post is in “Open” status and the remaining request slots are 1 or more, you can click the “Apply” button to fill out and submit a request form.
Request details
You can check the options you chose and the final payment amount. No additional charges will be made beyond the amount paid when your request is submitted, so don’t worry.
The work deadline is set by the creator to the date they want at the time they accept your request. Since there is no separate step where the requester approves the deadline, if you have a specific date that must be met, we recommend contacting the creator first. Creators can set the deadline to a minimum of 1 day and a maximum of 90 days from the acceptance date.
Answering questions
- You can view and answer the questions written by the creator.
- You can write up to 1,000 characters in your answer and attach files.
Payment information
- For paid work, enter the payment information that will be used to pay the fee.
- Payment is processed at the time the request is submitted.
- If the creator rejects the request or does not respond within 72 hours, the work will automatically change to “Request canceled” status and the fee will be refunded.
Check your request status
Once you submit a request, you can check your form and its status under [My menu] > [Request history].
- Under [Request] > [Timeline], you can discuss progress with the creator using “Leave a message.” Both the requester and the creator can write up to 10,000 characters per message and upload files up to 100MB.
- Files uploaded via “Leave a message” expire at midnight 30 days after upload. Once a file expires, it can no longer be downloaded.
Request statuses
- Request submitted: The requester has submitted the form and is waiting for the creator to accept.
- Request canceled: The fee has been refunded due to no response from the creator, rejection by the creator, or cancellation by the requester.
- In progress: The creator has accepted the request and has not yet delivered the work.
- Work delivered: The creator has delivered the completed work.
- Confirmed: The requester has reviewed the work and clicked the “Confirm” button, or the status has automatically changed to “Confirmed” after 7 days with no response. Once a work is in Confirmed status, it cannot be refunded for any reason.
- Refunded: The fee has been automatically refunded because the work was not delivered by the deadline, or the creator manually processed a refund. Depending on the payment provider’s policy, it may take 2–3 business days for the card authorization to be canceled.
Accepting/declining a change to the work deadline
- When the creator requests a change to the work deadline, a “Confirm deadline change” button will appear under the requester’s [My menu] > [Request history] > [Request] > [Timeline]. The requester can accept or decline the change to the deadline.
- If the requester accepts the change before the original deadline, the work deadline is updated.
- If the requester does not respond to the change request by the original deadline, or declines it, the original deadline remains in effect. If the work is not delivered by the original deadline, 100% of the fee will be refunded to the requester.
- The deadline can be changed multiple times, but the new date must be within 90 days from the date the request was accepted.
Checking the completed request work
- When the creator delivers the work, you can download and check it under [My menu] > [Request history] > [Request].
- After checking the work, please click the “Confirm” button to mark the work as completed. The creator can only receive their earnings once the work status is set to “Confirmed.”
- If you don’t click the “Confirm” button, the work will be automatically confirmed after 7 days.
- After confirming the work, you can no longer receive a refund for any reason or use “Leave a message.”
- Once the work is in “Confirmed” status, you can leave a review.
Leaving a review for a request
- Once a work is “Confirmed,” you can click the “Write a review” button under [My menu] > [Request history] > [Request] to leave a review.
- You can view your reviews under [My menu] > [Request history] > [Request] > [Timeline] or at the bottom of the post body under More […]. You can edit or delete them at any time.
- Creators can link the final work post to your review. You’ll receive a notification when a final work post is linked to your review. If you believe the creator has linked something other than the actual work to your review, please contact the creator.
- If you have purchased work multiple times from the same post, a “Repeat purchase” badge will appear on your review.
Sponsoring a request
- You can sponsor a request post by clicking the “Sponsor” button under [My menu] > [Request history] > [Request], or the “Sponsor this request” button on the creator’s request post.
- When you give a sponsorship to a request post, a “Sponsored” badge and the sponsorship amount will appear on your review. Sponsorship amounts for the same post are accumulated.
- You can sponsor a request post even if you are not a requester.
Stopping and refunding a request (requester)
- You can cancel and resubmit your request at any time after submitting the form and before the creator accepts it. If you cancel your request, the fee will be refunded.
- Once the creator accepts the request and work has begun, the creator can choose “Refund” to stop the work. If the creator does not agree to a refund, you cannot stop the work or receive a refund.
- In the event of a dispute between the creator and the requester, our Terms of Use prioritize direct resolution between the parties. However, if it is difficult to reach an agreement and mediation is needed, you can request mediation through the Request Dispute Mediation Center.
- A request is a feature for asking a creator to produce custom work and is different from purchasing existing content; a certain quality or level of content is not guaranteed. Please note that refunds and dispute mediation are not available for the reasons below, and be sure to review them before submitting a request.
- You may not be satisfied with the final work, or it may differ from the samples provided in advance.
- Your requested revisions or other changes to the work may not be accepted during the production process.
- The work deadline is set directly by the creator and may differ from a date you and the creator discussed beforehand.
- Refunds are only available when the work is in “In progress” or “Work delivered” status. After the work is “Confirmed,” no refunds are possible for any reason.
- Depending on the payment provider, it may take 2–5 business days for the refunded amount to be returned to the requester.
- If you used a discount coupon for payment, the same coupon will be reissued immediately even if the request is rejected or refunded.
