POSTYPE operates a Dispute Resolution Center to fairly and smoothly resolve disputes that may occur between buyers and sellers during the Request application process.
- The POSTYPE Request service, as an online transaction intermediary, only operates, manages, and provides a system that enables free transactions of products, etc. between members and sellers. It does not act as an agent for either members or sellers, and, in accordance with the Terms of Use, prioritizes having the parties resolve issues directly.
- However, if you wish to proceed with dispute resolution, POSTYPE will mediate disputes arising from Request transactions in accordance with relevant laws such as the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce and the Fair Trade Commission’s Consumer Dispute Resolution Standards.
Dispute Resolution Process
- Dispute submission: When a dispute arises in a transaction between a seller and a buyer, submit the dispute to the Dispute Resolution Center.
- Review of details: Once a dispute is submitted to the Dispute Resolution Center, a dedicated dispute handler reviews the facts. For disputes involving a seller, the seller will be asked to provide an explanation.
- First settlement proposal: Within 3 business days, we will inform you of the progress of the handling process, and within 10 business days, we will present a settlement proposal to the buyer. For disputes involving a seller, the seller will also receive the proposal. If preparation of the proposal is delayed, we will inform the submitter of the current status.
- Second settlement proposal: If the buyer or seller does not accept the proposal, a second settlement proposal will be presented to the buyer and/or seller.
- End of mediation: Mediation ends when the first or second proposal is accepted. If the second proposal is not accepted, or if there is an objection to the outcome of the dispute handling, you may apply for dispute mediation with organizations such as the Financial Dispute Mediation Committee or the Consumer Dispute Mediation Committee.
Notes When Submitting a Dispute
- If the proposal presented by the Dispute Resolution Center is in compliance with relevant laws but is still not accepted, or if the mediation period is significantly delayed due to reasons attributable to the customer (such as being unreachable), the case may be closed at our discretion.
- Even when a dispute has occurred, POSTYPE may not always be able to directly enforce a refund or impose usage sanctions. If, after payment, the service is not provided or damages occur during the course of service use, we will guide you on how to seek assistance from judicial authorities (courts, police stations), the ICT Dispute Mediation Support Center, the Korea Consumer Agency, and similar organizations.
- Under the Personal Information Protection Act, even a suspected offender is entitled to protection of their personal information (name, mobile phone number, bank account number, etc.), so we cannot immediately share such information with you. If it is difficult for you to verify the other party’s personal information, please note that when the police (via an official cooperation request) or the court (via a fact-finding request) asks POSTYPE to provide the reported party’s personal information, we will cooperate in good faith.
