How can I check the rules of an Open Channel?

• PC: Open Channel home > More icon next to the profile > Channel rules
• Mobile: While scrolling, tap the icon at the top-right of the screen > In the right sidebar, tap the More icon next to the profile > Channel rules

If the channel has no rules, you’ll see a message saying “This channel has no rules.”

How are reports on posts in an Open Channel handled?

• POSTYPE channels are self-governed spaces where users build their own unique fan cultures. 

• All reports related to content within a channel are reviewed and handled directly by that channel’s moderators. If you have questions or need to appeal a moderation action taken in the channel, please contact the moderators directly.

Where can I find my writing after it’s unpublished from an Open Channel?

Even if a post you wrote in an Open Channel is unpublished by the moderators, you can still view your post through the following path:

• Open Channel home > More button next to the profile > [Channel drawer]

• If you’re no longer participating in the Open Channel, you can’t republish the post. 

Also, if the Open Channel itself has been deleted, it’s currently difficult to view posts that were published in that channel. We plan to improve this soon so you can still access posts you’ve written even after a channel is deleted. 

Who owns the copyright to posts written in an Open Channel?

The copyright to every post belongs to the creator who wrote the post. The copyright to any reposted or quoted content also belongs to the creator of the original post.

Can Open Channel moderators view paid posts in the channel without payment?

Yes. To allow smooth channel management, the channel owner and managers can view paid posts that are published in the Open Channel they run without making a separate payment. However, in the cases below, a separate payment is required to view the content.

• When a post published in another channel is reposted

• When a post published in another channel is quoted

  • Within a quote post, the sections written by participants of the channel can be viewed without payment, but you’ll need to pay separately to view the quoted post from the other channel.

How can I access a private channel?

Private channels are not exposed in search, recommendations, or other discovery areas within the service, in order to protect the privacy of the channel owner and participants. Please note the following when using a private channel.

Access and visibility restrictions

• Private channels do not appear in search, so only users who know the channel’s direct URL can access it.

Content protection

• If a non-participant accesses the channel, all areas including channel information and posts are hidden, and no content can be viewed.

How to join

• If you want to participate in a private channel, please ask the channel owner to share the URL directly with you and then submit a join request.

What are the fees for post sales and sponsorships that occur in an Open Channel?

Posts published in an Open Channel

• A flat 30% fee is applied to all sales and sponsorship revenue. No additional “discovery fee” is charged.

When a creator channel post is sold through an Open Channel

• Open Channels are part of the “Discovery” area of the service. Therefore, if a post from your creator channel is sold via an Open Channel, a total 30% fee applies, which includes the discovery fee (17%).

What happens to an Open Channel if the channel owner deletes their profile?

If the channel owner deletes their profile, withdraws their account, or receives a Level 5 – Account Suspension, leaving the Open Channel without a channel owner, the channel owner role is reassigned in the following order:

• If there are managers in the channel

  • The manager who was appointed earliest automatically receives the channel owner role.

• If there are no managers in the channel

  • The participant who joined the earliest automatically receives the channel owner role.

POSTYPE respects the autonomy of Open Channel operations and, as a rule, does not directly intervene in management. If you currently hold channel owner rights but find it difficult to manage the channel yourself, we recommend delegating those rights to another trusted user so the channel can continue to stay active.
