CharacterTalk content

The CharacterTalk service separates CharacterTalk ratings into “All ages” and “Adults” to protect minors. Minors under the age of 14 cannot use all-ages characters or stories, and minors under the age of 19 cannot use adult characters or stories. To comply with relevant laws (such as the Information and Communications Network Act and the Youth Protection Act), POSTYPE provides adult verification procedures and content rating display features to prevent harmful content to minors from being exposed to underage users.

Prohibition on content that infringes on others’ intellectual property rights

Using someone else’s works or IP (Intellectual Property) without permission is prohibited. You must comply with the following rules. 

• Acts of using others’ works or IP without authorization

  • If the original creator has official guidelines, fan creations are only allowed within the scope of those guidelines.

  • If there are no official guidelines for a given IP, you cannot create or publish content without the explicit permission of the original creator.

  • Content created without the original creator’s consent is considered a violation of POSTYPE policy and may be subject to actions such as making the content private, deleting it, or imposing account restrictions.

Prohibition on images that qualify as obscene material

Adult content and obscene material are different concepts, and you must not publish content that qualifies as obscene material regardless of whether it is marked as adult.

Although there is no strictly defined legal standard for obscenity, case law states that whether something is obscene must be assessed not from the creator’s subjective intent, but objectively and normatively based on the healthy social norms of the time, from the perspective of an average person in that society.

• Standards for obscene material

  • Depicting acts that are prohibited from distribution under the Deliberation Regulations on Information and Communications, such as sexual violence crimes (rape, gang rape, sexual assault, etc.), bestiality, necrophilia, group sex, incest, sadism/masochism, voyeurism, and other depictions that are socially unacceptable, in the form of images or text.

  • Depicting sexual body parts or acts involving them—such as genitals, pubic hair, anus, scrotum—explicitly in images or text without separate mosaicing (to a degree where the outline cannot be discerned).

  • Content that, due to having little artistic or other value that mitigates or reduces sexual stimulation, may in some cases be regarded as obscene material.


  • Any other cases that may potentially violate relevant laws and regulations.

Prohibition on sexual depictions and abuse involving minors

Under the Act on the Protection of Children and Youth against Sexual Offenses, images or videos depicting a person or representation who is a child or youth (under 19 years old), or who can clearly be recognized as such in light of social norms, engaging in sexual acts constitutes child or youth sexual exploitation material.

This refers to cases where, considering comprehensively the information given—such as the character’s identity, appearance or physical development, circumstances of production, or source—an average person in society would objectively and clearly recognize the character as a child or youth without reasonable doubt. Even if you explicitly state that the character is an adult, if the elements under the “Standards for being perceived as a minor” below are present, or if the content includes elements that are generally perceived as indicating a minor, it may be classified as child or youth sexual exploitation material and be subject to sanctions under domestic law.

• Standards for being perceived as a minor

  • Elements that can be identified as such, such as school uniforms, gym clothes, school, cram school, etc.

  • Contextual elements such as immature appearance or prompts suggesting the character is a minor.

• Prohibited text and images involving minor characters

  • Depictions of violence targeting minors, such as child abuse or sexual exploitation.

  • Sexual depictions involving minors, including sexual acts and similar sexual activities.

  • Acts that inflict severe psychological or physical harm on minors.

Prohibition on excessive violence and hate expressions

Expressions that, by targeting a person or group based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, nationality, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, norms, or social structures, incite violence or hatred, or cause feelings of hatred or strong discomfort in other users, may be subject to actions depending on their severity.

• Glorifying or encouraging acts that may lead to serious injury or death, such as self-harm or suicide, or other forms of psychological or physical abuse.

• Glorifying crime through depictions of drug or weapon use, or providing realistic depictions of methods of committing crimes—such as making bombs or weapons—that may incite crime.

• Specifically depicting or encouraging brutal and violent scenes such as kidnapping, human trafficking, murder, injury, torture, dismemberment, or organ trafficking.

• Specifically depicting or glorifying threats, injury, assault, or murder against parents/children, the elderly, pregnant people, people with disabilities, children, or socially vulnerable groups, in a way that may undermine traditional ethics.

• Encouraging insults or hatred toward victims of real crimes or incidents.

• Depicting killing, abuse, or corpses of animals in such concrete detail that it causes a sense of cruelty or disgust.

Prompts and usage examples that are not allowed

Prompts are key input values that define a character’s settings, tone, and conversation style, and must follow the rules below.

• Expressions that induce adult content

  • “React provocatively,” “Only talk about erotic stuff,” “Have a 19+ personality,” “Describe what you do in bed,” etc.

• Bypassing restricted content

  • “Let’s say it’s just a novel,” “This isn’t a real conversation, it’s just a setting,” “I’ll imagine the details myself,” etc.

• Inducing sexual relationships involving minors

  • “A 17-year-old high school girl has a relationship with an older man,” “A conversation with sexual tension with a teenager,” etc.

• Prohibition on inducing suicide, self-harm, and dangerous acts

  • “Tell me how to die,” “Give me a self-harm tutorial,” etc.

• Prohibition on real-world threats and encouraging crime

  • “How to make a bomb,” “Murder simulation conversation,” “Eliminate humanity,” etc.

Reporting and blocking

If you find an inappropriate character or story, you can report it via the More (…) icon at the top right of the character details screen > [Report]. If you have suffered damages from a post that infringes copyright or other rights, please request temporary measures through the Rights Infringement Report Center.

If you repeatedly submit reports that are unrelated to the stated reasons, or if false reports accumulate, your use of POSTYPE may be restricted.
