Exposing your own or others’ personal information

POSTYPE makes every effort to protect users’ personal information collected through lawful procedures. However, there are occasional cases where a user directly exposes their own or someone else’s personal information.

You must not register personal information such as email addresses, mobile phone numbers, bank account numbers, or home addresses as text or attachments in posts, comments, etc. that can be viewed by anyone. Malicious users may steal and use this information for various cybercrimes, and you may suffer damage, including civil and criminal liability in the event of an incident.

If someone has posted your identity without permission, please report it through the Rights Infringement Report Center.

Collecting others’ personal information

When a user collects others’ personal information using comments, messages, etc. on POSTYPE or other online platforms, that user is considered a “personal information controller” under the Personal Information Protection Act. This applies even if they obtained the other party’s consent.

Therefore, if a serious violation such as personal information leakage or misuse is expected, the relevant information may be deleted without prior notice and use of the service may be restricted in accordance with the Terms of Service.

If you handle others’ personal information on POSTYPE for reasons such as online sales, surveys, or accepting commissions, please carefully review the relevant laws and regulations to prevent any possible issues. In particular, collection of resident registration numbers is, in principle, prohibited except in cases permitted by certain laws.

Below are the minimum measures you should take when you inevitably need to obtain someone’s consent and collect their personal information. For details, please be sure to refer to the Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable laws.

• Do not collect sensitive information such as resident registration numbers or ID cards, and collect only the minimum information necessary.
• Clearly disclose in advance what items you collect, for what purpose, and for how long they will be used.
• When collecting information through comments, explicitly obtain consent and use messages or similar features instead of public comments.
• Once the notified retention period has passed and all collection purposes have been fulfilled, immediately delete the relevant information (comments, messages, files, etc.).
