With the updated post policy, creators can now use the 'Visibility settings' to choose how much of a post can be viewed and by whom. If you want to learn more about publishing paid posts, please check out Selling paid posts.

Visibility settings

• Select 'Public': Enabled when the entire post is set to public.
• Select 'Visible to subscribers only': The post is only visible to channel subscribers.
• Select 'Visible to post purchasers only': Any user can pay to view the content below the visibility box. Users who have not purchased the post can only see the preview portion (content above the visibility box).
• Select 'Visible to membership subscribers only': Members who are currently giving recurring sponsorship via a membership plan can view the full post, while non-members can only see the preview portion (content above the visibility box).
• Select 'Visible to post purchasers or membership subscribers': Members who are currently giving recurring sponsorship via a membership plan can view the full post for free, while non-members must pay to view the content below the visibility box.
• Select 'Private': No one else can see the post; only you can view it.

What is a private post?

• A 'private' post is one that only you can see; no one else can view it. It is not visible to others anywhere, including via shared links or search.
• Outside of the Activity tab in your channel, private posts cannot be viewed even by the channel owner in Series, Community, Library, or Collections.
• For you, private posts are included in the total post count, but for other viewers, they are not.
• In a team channel, only the owner and administrators can publish and view private posts.

How to publish a private post

• Go to [Publish] > [Visibility settings] and select 'Private' to publish a private post.
• You can find published posts in your channel and under [Studio] > [Posts] > [Published].
• If you cancel publication of a private post, it will be moved to [Studio] > [Posts] > [Drafts].
• A 'Private' tag is automatically added to private posts.

A post I purchased has been changed to private.

• You can no longer view the original post, but you can still access your personal copy under [Library] > [Purchases].

I want to republish a private post as public.

• You can change it to 'Public' under [Publish] > [Visibility settings].
• If you change the visibility to Public and republish, no notification will be sent to subscribers.
