What is a discount coupon?
A discount coupon lets subscribers get an immediate discount for a fixed amount. The type of coupon is determined by who issues it.
Creator-funded coupon: A coupon where the creator directly covers and issues the discount amount. When this coupon is used, your revenue is settled based on the list price minus the coupon amount. Only subscribers of your channel can receive this coupon.
POSTYPE-funded coupon: A promotional coupon where POSTYPE provides the discount amount. POSTYPE issues these coupons directly. When this coupon is used, the coupon amount is not deducted from the creator’s revenue.
Creating a coupon
Any creator with an active channel can create coupons. You can set the discount method, discount period, and what the discount applies to so you can run coupons in various ways.
Go to [Studio] > [Coupons] > click the "Create new coupon" button to create a coupon.
For team channels, only the channel owner and admins can create or manage coupons.
1. Set the coupon name
This is the coupon name shown to subscribers. Please keep it short and clear within 20 characters.
2. Set the discount
This step determines how much benefit the coupon provides.
Discount method: You can choose between percentage (%) and fixed amount (P).
Minimum purchase amount: The coupon is only applied when the purchase amount is above a certain value. If you leave this blank, the coupon can be used without a minimum.
Maximum discount amount: When using a percentage discount, you can set an upper limit for the discount amount. For example, even with a 10% discount, you can limit the maximum discount to 5,000P.
3. Set the coupon type
This step determines which posts or requests the coupon can be used on.
Scope
Entire channel: The coupon applies to all posts or requests on your channel.
Individual: You can select specific posts to apply the coupon to. Click the [Import from channel] button to select the posts or requests you want to apply it to. Only posts or requests that are in a published state can be selected.
Select type
You can select only 1 between post or request.
When you click the "Import from channel" button, you can select the posts or requests to apply the coupon to.
-
Individual coupons can be applied simultaneously to multiple posts or requests of the selected type.
Example) Coupon A: can be applied to post 1, post 2, and post 3 at the same time
Coupons can only be applied to posts that are published as paid and set to public, or to requests that are currently on sale as paid.
Once you’ve finished selecting targets from [Import from channel], you can preview the coupon-applied price for each target under the "Select type" section.
By combining scope and type selection, you can create 4 different types of coupons.
Scope / Type |
Post |
Request |
|---|---|---|
Entire channel |
All posts published on my channel |
All requests published on my channel |
Individual |
Applied only to the posts I select |
Applied only to the requests I select |
4. Set the period
You can set the period during which subscribers can receive the coupon, and the period during which they can use it. All periods are set in days.
Issuance period: The period during which subscribers can receive the coupon. You can manually enter the start and end date, or quickly set it using the period buttons. You can set it for up to 1 year from the time you create the coupon.
-
Validity period: The period during which the issued coupon can be used. You can set it in days; if you don’t specify it, the coupon can be used only until the end date of the issuance period. It can be set for up to 1 year. For smoother budget management, we recommend setting it to less than 3 months.
When set in days: Each recipient will have a different validity period depending on when they received the coupon.
When set the same as the issuance period: Every recipient can use the coupon only until the end of the issuance period and will have the same validity period.
5. Set the quantity
This step sets the total number of coupons and the maximum number each subscriber can receive.
Coupon quantity: If you set it to unlimited, coupons will be issued without limit. If you want a first-come, first-served event or to control your budget, enter a total quantity.
Maximum issuance per person: Sets the maximum number of coupons one person can receive. To prevent duplicate receipt per person, we recommend setting this to 1. You can set it from 1 to 200.
6. Final check and create
Once you’ve finished all settings, give everything a final check in [Coupon preview]. Issued coupons cannot be edited. After carefully checking the [Coupon preview], click the [Create] button.
Stopping a coupon
You can stop issuing an active coupon by clicking the "Stop operation" button. Even if issuance is stopped, users who already received the coupon can still use it within the validity period. Once a coupon has been stopped, you cannot change its status back to active, so please double-check before stopping it.
