Assigning Managers

What are moderators?

Unlike creator channels, which are run solely by the creator, Open Channels let the channel owner appoint trusted managers to form a team of moderators and manage the channel together.

Managers act as partners who help the channel owner ensure content is managed smoothly. Specifically, they help maintain the atmosphere of the channel by canceling the publication of inappropriate posts, removing and blocking users who break the channel rules, and more. The permissions of channel owners and managers are as follows:

• Channel owner

  • Channel management actions such as canceling post publication, blocking and removing users

  • Editing channel information such as channel rules and how to participate

  • Granting and removing manager permissions

• Manager

  • Channel management actions such as canceling post publication, blocking and removing users

  • Cannot change channel settings (cannot access [Studio] > [Settings])

Granting or removing manager permissions

Only the channel owner can grant or remove manager permissions. Managers cannot assign permissions to other participants or revoke permissions from already appointed managers, so please keep this in mind.

• Assigning a manager

  • In the Participants tab, click the more icon (…) next to the user you want to appoint as a manager.

  • Select “Assign as manager” from the menu to immediately appoint that participant as a moderator (manager).

• Removing (dismissing) manager permissions

  • Click the more icon (…) next to the relevant user, just as when assigning them.

  • Click “Remove moderator permissions” to change that manager back to a regular participant.
